Questions You may have

The benefits of choosing RedCat for iOS application development are multi-faceted, but let’s focus on 3 main.

  • First, there’s the assurance of quality and security that comes with iOS’s robust ecosystem. RedCat leverages this by adhering to high coding standards and integrating the latest iOS features, ensuring that the apps are not only sleek and responsive but also secure. Additionally, iOS users are known to have higher engagement and monetization rates, which can be advantageous for businesses aiming for profitability.
  • Second – RedCAt does not work with products if there is no 100% belief that the product will succeed. And once we start our cooperation, you can be sure you have got a tech team of product advocates. We value professionalism and common sense, so be ready to intensive communication with a fair and proactive team.
  • Furthermore, RedCat’s iOS development services offer a streamlined approach to the App Store’s submission process, which is sometimes overwhelming, and assumes a lot of incremental improvements on the flight. With our expertise, we can navigate the stringent review guidelines efficiently, leading to a smoother approval and launch process, as all apps we submitted to Appstore were approved.

The timeline for iOS app development can span anywhere from a few months to a year, contingent on the app’s intricacy and requirements. A straightforward app, prioritizing standard features and basic user behavior, can be developed in a mere 3-4 months turn-key, with the UI/UX designs and testing phase included. In contrast, more complex applications, especially those demanding Blockchain integrations or AI capabilities, may necessitate 6-8 months of development.

At RedCat, our process is structured yet flexible. For instance, with our project Hyfit, we began with a thorough Discovery phase, delineated the customer journey map, and concluded development in 5 months. The app was subsequently released on the PlayMarket, followed by minor improvements based on user feedback. This iterative approach ensures that our apps not only meet but often exceed client expectations.

The cost of developing an iOS app can vary significantly based on its complexity and the features integrated. A basic app with standard features and a clear user journey map might start at $30,000. However, apps requiring more sophisticated technologies, such as Blockchain or advanced AI integrations, can range upwards of $80,000. Costs can also escalate with extensive localization, infrastructure costs, and integration with 3d parties.

As a point of reference, our iOS project Olimp was built from scratch, encompassing both unique business model, IoT integration and standard features, and was priced at $90,000.

The key thing to consider here is whether you really need an iOS app, and maybe a separate Android app. Cross-platform framework can perfectly handle the majority of what iOS and Android are doing. Still, there are some cases when it makes sense to use exactly iOS platform:

  • the app is supposed to make complex calculations on the front-end part (not a cloud or server) (for example complex filtering in offline mode or something 3D related)
  • you plan to make an integration on a hardware level (which is much easier to make with a native, not cross-platform development)
  • you work in luxurious segment, and your customers will not compromise or tolerate any kind of design, performance and animations other than 100% perfect.

You are right if we are talking about subscriptions, paid apps, in-app purchases and GameDev. For the rest, there are a lot of options without these commissions applied.
The commission rate is 30% for the first year of the subscription, after which it reduces to 15%. For apps that generate revenue through in-app advertising or sponsorships, App Store does not charge a commission.
For crypto-related apps, App Store allows them on the platform but has some specific guidelines related to cryptocurrencies. Apps that offer trading or exchange of cryptocurrencies must be from approved exchanges and must comply with applicable laws and regulations. If the app is a wallet, it must be offered by developers who are enrolled in Apple’s Developer Program and must comply with all relevant laws and regulations.

No. We have made this mistake in the past. Much easier to build from scratch cause, in this case, we can use our internal templates that are guaranteed to work.
